Fun on the Fourth!!!

What a difference a year or two makes!  Seriously, life has changed for us dramatically with the addition of our precious one in the family!  It's all good of course but just kind of funny to think about!  The 4th of July has always been a big deal around our house!!  Here's a prime example of how we used to spend our 4th's!!!

Hey, I'm just trying to keep it real here!

And then here we are now....our sweet little family!

Just a little recap of our awesome weekend...We started the festivities by travelling down to SEK to attend Michael's "Adams Family Reunion!"  I am so truly blessed to have married into such a large wonderful family!  I have never met such sweet, generous, genuine people in my life!  We even dressed up Maguire & Max in matching red, white and blue outfits for the day!  Unfortunately, I don't even have any pictures of the two of them together because when one was sleeping, the other would be eating, or cranking, or whatever....as you can imagine with a 2 and 5 month old!!!  When we did catch a few quick pics I didn't even want to waste the precious few moments by having Michael grab my camera!  So I'll have to hit Rebecca up for those!  As it was, I think Max might have been a little fussy at the moment and about a minute after I took Maguire's bib off of him for the pic, he massively puked down the side of himself, down the side of my shorts and puddled onto their leather (thank God!) couch!  Beautiful, just beautiful.  But other than being a little pukey (which I was totally expecting considering I knew he would be passed around) Maguire was a peach all day!!!

On Sunday, Michael smoked some meat with the boys during the day, while I did a little shopping and relaxing!  Later that evening we went to our good friends, the Bradstreet's, house to celebrate with tons of food and drink!  It was really the first time we were all back together again since having our wee ones.  And let me tell you about controlled chaos!  Bedtime was interesting!  There were at least 4, maybe 5, pack and plays upstairs!  All the babies were great though and it was so nice to be with all of our friends again!

My man all decked out in his red/white and blue!  And darn it, his Sperry's were still a little big on him!  I didn't care, he was going to wear them regardless!!!

Hi there, Bright Eyes!  (I HATE BIBS!!)

This picture is darling but even better would have been about 15 seconds later when Maguire puked on Michael's mouth and down his entire front and onto his lap!!!!

Sweet friends...Abby, Cassie, & Erin

Michael had to work on the 4th so Maguire and I went to Mom's to hang out and swim at the pool.  Maguire is slowly getting better in the pool.  I really think he just doesn't like the cold water at all so now that it's warmed up a bit, he seems to like it more!  Grandpa even got a matching Arabian hat!!  Bahahaha!!!  We finished off the night with a great view of the Olathe fireworks and homemade ice cream!  Yum!  It was the perfect ending to an awesome weekend!

Even though we might not be partying it up like we used to on the 4th anymore, I'd take this kind of celebrating any day!!  Great family, friends, food, relaxing, spending time with my hubby and little doodles...and best of all, no hangover!!!  Yes, please!!!  Sounds like my kind of 4th of July!

  1. I loved the bong picture! That's some funny stuff and a huge change from where you are now! Wish we could have hung out on the 4th. Looked like you had fun! The pics of Mag and Ron are super cute too! You've got one good-looking kid!
