Spring has Sprung!

This weather lately has just been wonderful!!!  I have loved not having to bundle the baby up to take him outside the house!  However, with that realization also came the fact that I needed to go shopping for Maguire some spring/summer clothes!  I can always find a reason to shop!

Michael planted some tulips last year and they are so beautiful right now!  I'm hoping all this wind doesn't blow away all the petals.

Look at this cute little booger!  He looooves his activity mat!  Too bad he doesn't feel the same about tummy time:(

We've been taking some walks lately.  Maguire does not know what to think about the sun in his face!  We now have some hats for him and some sunglasses but both swallow his little face!!!

Just a little shot of Mag after his bath last night.  I just came to the realization the other night that he is growing out of his small little hooded towels:(  I also realized I don't have many bathtime pics!  That will soon change!!

I finally opened up my UH-Mazing Cuisinart food processor that my in-laws gave me for Christmas!  This thing is so awesome!  I don't know why I waited so long to get it out.  Frankly, it kinda scared me a bit with all the blades and stuff.  I have made several things in it so far---lots of diced up veggies for dishes, some guacamole and my personal favorite, homemade hummus!!!!  Even Michael liked my hummus better than the store-bought kind!  Thanks babe!!!

I'll end with this deliciousness I made for dinner the other night.  Some easy peasy chicken pesto pizza that I whipped up myself.

I took an already-made pizza crust, brushed it with about a tablespoon or so of olive oil, spread light Alfredo sauce on the crust, smeared on some dollops of pesto sauce from a jar (do you know the kind?  Classico Traditional Basil Pesto.  It's a staple in my fridge.  I always have the Sundried Tomato on-hand as well.), then covered the sauce with a generous amount of mozzarella/cheddar combo (you could use whatever cheese you have on hand), chopped up some onions (in my trusty food processor!!!), chopped up some thawed, pre-cooked grilled chicken breast strips and threw them all on and then sprinkled just a little more mozzarella on top.  I then baked it according to the crust package directions.  This was soooo good!  The last time I made it though, I chopped up quartered artichoke hearts and added that and it was even better.  I just didn't have any this time!!!  I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!!!

Hope you're all enjoying this spring weather as much as we are in our household!!!

Lazy Sunny Sunday

Today was a good day.  A really, really good day!  There is nothing better than having Michael home on the weekends to spend time with him and to have another hand with the baby.  I can get soooo much more accomplished when I have his help.  It's so nice to be able to take a shower and not be worrying about the wee one the whole time!!!

Anyway, we had a great day spending time as a family, running some errands, and playing with Maguire.

Started the day off by putting together the little man's jumperoo.  Now granted, we of course realized that he is probably too small for it but thought maybe he would enjoy sitting in it and looking at all the brightly colored objects.  Since I'm going to be having Baby Boston at the house in a couple of weeks, I thought it would be nice to have that put together in case he wanted to go jumpin' in it!!!

At first we weren't sure what he thought about it.....

Then we got this reaction!!!!!

But then he was kind of bobble-headin' around and bonked his chin:(

Didn't seem to phase him a bit, but we thought maybe we should wait a bit for the jumperoo!!!

Then we got dressed in some new summer clothes and did a little shopping.

Later that afternoon, it was time to relax with Daddy and watch the Master's.

Ahhh....what I wouldn't give to have these Sundays every weekend!!!

That's about right!

Just read a funny quote and thought I would share....

"Families are like fudge....mostly sweet with a few nuts in it!"

True, very true!!  Goodnight all (really, MacKinzie, like who are you even saying goodnight to?!!  Ha!)!

A Precious New Life

Oh how I love me some babies....and lucky for me, a new little one joined our family last night!  Michael's sister, Rebecca, and her husband, Jim, welcomed Maxson Reid (how cute is that?!) into their lives at 6:37 pm.  He weighed 6 lbs, 6 oz and was 20 inches long.  He is simply adorable and well worth the almost 3 hours of pushing that it took to get him here (cringing as I type that!)!

There's just nothing quite like a mother's love...

Though a daddy's love is awfully special too....

Well, hello there, Precious!!

Even this guy got in on some lovin'....

(Ugh, I hate the look of bibs.  The necessary evil.)

And talk about pure JOY(ce)....

Our little guy was such a trooper the whole trip!  Only one poopie blowout in the carseat on the way home (see what you have to look forward to, Rebecca?!) and even that wasn't any big deal!  Other than that, he was awesome!!!

Really Mom, another picture?!

This is what I got to look at all the way home....who wouldn't be jealous!!!!!  He did a whole lot of staring, slobbing, and smiling the whole way there and back!!!!

Congratulations, Rebecca & Jim!  We can't wait to raise our little boys together!  We wish you all the best with your precious wee one!!!  Love you all much!!!

Maguire's Many Faces

It's a two-post kind of night.  That's my life now because I rarely have time to get on here!  I had been neglecting my camera as of late so I decided I needed to fire it back up tonight and catch some of Maguire's precious little faces that he has been making lately and give a brief update on his latest.

One of the best things is that our sweetie started sleeping from 9-5 or 5:30 in the morning....until we had a couple of nights where we weren't at home and our little bedtime routine was interrupted.  So he got fed an extra time during the night.  I'm praying that he drops that again VERY quickly because it makes a huge difference in how I feel the next day!!  Speaking of....I should really go to bed:)

Anyway, other than that, we've just been spending our days hanging out and loving on each other!  We left him with Grammy for the first time to go out to a going away party and he did awesome!  I really missed him though and I swear I was that mom that all she did was talk about her kid the whole time!  I'm sure I was real annoying but I'm telling you, I am Uhb-sessed with this little guy!!!!  Ha ha!!  We had a playdate with Taran and Boston last week and that was wonderful to get out of the house.  We also went to lunch with T, Boss, and Sandy last week too.  He was awake the whole time and wasn't TOO terribly fussy so I ended up really enjoying myself.

We also had a sweet little visit from Grandma and Grandpa Maxson!  I just love doting grandparents!  And let me tell you, he has a ton of them!!!!!  Lucky little boy!

So on to the pictures because I'm boring even myself....

Mr. Smileypants!

Maguire has a very serious side.  He will beat you at a staring contest!

So sweet and still so new.  He has this soft downy hair that is just growing so much.  I love to run fingers and cheeks over it:)

Mr. Chubber Wubbers!  I'm getting some chunky cheeks and thighs (well, I've already got them, but I mean Maguire!!!!!!!)!

Mr. Happiness!  I {heart} this face!!!

I love these smiles!!!!  Accompanied by very quiet little coos and slobber!!

Mag has found his little fists and loves to gnaw on them!!!

Our little thinker!  Personally, I think he's going to be a genius!!  Ha ha ha!!

And one more of my big, bright-eyed (maybe Brown-eyed, the jury's still out on that one!) little beauty!!!

One last thing, Michael and I are about to have a precious new little nephew this Wednesday so we will be doing some travelling to go meet the little presh.  Pray for safe travels for us, for an easy and uncomplicated delivery for my sister-in-law, and for a healthy baby boy!  Thanks!!!

It's so HAAAAARRRD to say goodbye....

.....to Jeff and Laura!!!!!!!!!!!  Some of our best friends moved away this weekend:(  It was truly heartbreaking!  We have been friends with them for about 2 years and man, have we had some fun times!!!  They are just the kind of people that are so easy and fun to be around.  One of the best highlights of our friendship so far has been travelling to Puerta Vallarta with them last year!  Uh-mazing!  I will never eat guac and drink margs without thinking of them after that week!!!  We also spent practically our ENTIRE summer together last year laying by mom's pool.  They live only about a mile away and to not have them right around the corner is just going to be so weird!  Michael and I will always treasure the endless conversations over MANY bottles of wine with them!!!

We were so excited to hear that it only took them 6 hours and 45 minutes to get to their new digs in Texas!  That is so roadtrip-doable!!!!!!!  Michael and I are already planning a trip soon to go see them!!!

Jeff and Laura, we just love you guys and wish you the absolute best!  It doesn't matter the distance, we will still be best friends and it will just make the times that we see each other that much more treasured!  I'm looking forward to watching our babies grow up together and for future family trips together!!  Oh and, sooo looking forward to the day you move back to KC!!!!  Uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (that's for you, Jeff!!!!)!!!!!!!
